Avocado, Orange, and Sunflower Seed Salad

I love salads but get uninspired sometimes. But a couple of good friends of mine are always coming up with the most amazing combinations of things. When they came for dinner over the weekend, they brought a salad with:
  • mixed greens
  • mandarin orange sections
  • chunks of avocado
  • roasted sunflower seeds

Topped with a delicious vinaigrette--Brianna's French vinaigrette.

I added some leftover slice steak to it for lunch the next day and it was delicious!


Simple Flank Steak Marinade

My mother's simple marinade for flank steak:
  • a couple of tablespoons of olive oil
  • an equal amount of lemon juice
  • a garlic clove or two, crushed or diced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • a bit of parsley

    Marinade a few hours and barbecue.
