Feta isn't goat cheese - it's made from sheeps milk. Goats milk is sometimes used in cheap feta, but if it has more goat than sheep milk it isn't allowed to be called feta.

Love this - Really want to try the Beets and the Braised Red Cabbage with Onion.
Also going to try the Turkey Shephard's pie - great variation on a wonderful dish.

Rutabaga was always served in my home and I simply love it - cooked and mashed with a lot of pepper - you can add potatos, sour cream, or whatever but I love the bitterness of this root vegetable.

I also love Green Beans almondine - something about the lemon and the toasted almonds that seems to complement the meal. Great post.

Good recipe; I recommend dashing with some lemon pepper afterward and serving a cool dipping side of some kind - ranch or chipotle mayo works well.

Hi Ellen, your site is awesome! I definitely need to go through your (TON OF) recipes. By the way, I recently also started a cooking site, slovakcooking.com. I am originally from Slovakia so I am using the site to promote Slovak cuisine. On Monday I prepared chicken paprikash with halusky (Slovak potato dumplings). The whole meal cost under 12 dollars and resulted in 6 hearty plates. And it tasted great. Not a bad deal for 2 bucks a dish!
